For citizens of countries that do not need a visa for tourist visits, such as the United States, UK, and Canada, a passport-style photo identification (photo page) is required when applying for an Indian visa at an embassy or consulate. All travelers are required to take a digital photograph of themselves that meets the following specifications:
The image should be in black and white and 2 inches square
It should show your face clearly with a closed eye visible
It should not have any shadows or blemishes
Your hair should be neatly coifed and free from accessories
You must make an appointment in advance if you wish to apply for an e-visa. If you are visiting India for less than thirty days without having first obtained a visa, you will need to obtain permission from the immigration officer at the port of entry before being allowed into India. You may also need to provide proof of onward travel. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in delay or denied entry into India.
Requirements for Passport Photos

The Indian visa application process can be a bit daunting if you are not familiar with it. Here we will discuss the different types of visas and what is required to obtain them. We will also provide instructions on how to apply for an Indian visa.
First, you will need to figure out what type of visa you want. There are several types of visas available to visitors from India: tourist, business, student, and family. Each has its own requirements and benefits.
To get a tourist visa, you must have a valid passport and proof of accommodation in the country you wish to visit for at least thirty days. You will also need a photo ID and proof of financial stability in the form of bank statements or recent pay stubs.
To apply for a business visa, you must have a valid company registration certificate or an invitation letter from the company you are visiting. You will also need evidence that your company has enough money to cover your stay in India and evidence that you can speak English well enough to carry out your job duties while in India.
To apply for a student visa, you must have an acceptance letter from a school in India or proof of enrollment at an accredited school outside of India. You will also need proof that you can financially support yourself while in India and enough money for your travel expenses.
